...3 hour workshop
$30 a person & everyone leaves with a finished painting!

8-12 people

have an art party, laugh with friends, eat snacks, make a mess, and CREATE! It is okay if you are just beginners, I will walk everyone through several steps together and as we continue on, everyones paintings become different and unique. You can even bring your own photos to collage into the painting. Last year, so many people who came laughed about how they weren't artistic and left pleased and proud of their paintings! Some of them even gave them as Christmas gifts to friends and family...

Take a look at the photos I posted on my facebook page Joy Deeann's Art and look through all the photos from last year :http://www.facebook.com/pages/Atlanta-GA/Joy-Deeanns-Art/94234571109?ref=ts

If you are interested in HOSTING A WORKSHOP IN YOUR CITY message me and we will work out all of the details!! All you need is a large area where we can spread out the drop cloths, inside or outside if weather permits

If you are interested in ATTENDING A WORKSHOP I bring all of the art supples except for the canvas.. so bring a 16" X 20" - 18" X 24" canvas and if you want to bring any photos or personal collage items, feel free to do so, I will have a lot provided as well..

the two newest pieces

These go with the series in progress I have been posting:
Spills and Coverings
more Spills and Coverings

"Overflow"

both of these pieces began with collage on paper, I then mounted that paper to cut masonite board, so the outer formed shape you see is actually board, on the back is a normal framed wood cradle that is rectangular with the eye hooks and wire, easy and ready to hang.

"Walls Crumble"

one thing I have enjoyed recently about working is that the concept literally goes with the technique, this piece has so many layers, got very mucky and dirty, I wanted it to be about walls coming down, deteriorating, and I sanded, ripped, and tore away at the layers of the collage. I had sewn on netting and glued it over the entire piece with matte medium, and I tore and picked a the web of the netting and pulled a lot of it off...

the pieces you see hanging off the bottom of the wood panel were pieces from the original piece, specifically torn from the two holes cut into the panel on the left. As I was ripping and tearing at the piece, those pieces sort of fell on the floor in front of it and I attached them because it went with it so well, shedding the walls

I am LOVING the weather lately- so beautiful! I sat outside to work on my artist statement about this new series yesterday and drank a chai tea... how I LOVE Fall, I hope it always reminds me of the season I got married.. picking leaves and being inspired by the colors

I have been working like crazy on this series and I have ONE MORE WEEK basically to get it ready for the show at MCA's Alumni Gallery because I leave for UGANDA this time next week!! I am getting so excited, I am sure I will post a few photos and I cannot wait to travel, experience a different culture, and love on those 100 babies at Baby Watoto in Kampala!
